Hereditary stress-susceptible peripheral neuropathy

Hereditary neuropathy with liability to pressure (HNLP) is also called allantoid peripheral neuropathy, and familial recurrent polyneuropathy. First reported by DeJong in 1947, its main clinical feature is that it can occur with a single nerve palsy under slight mechanical damage and compression, and can be relieved and relapsed multiple times. The pathological feature is the thickening of the myelin sheath to form a sausage-like structure.
