Cold nodule
Cool nodules: Nodule tissues do not absorb iodine, so nodules are not radioactive. This kind of knot saves about 20% for cancer. For those who are single, and the boundary with surrounding tissues is not very clear, the possibility of cancer is greater. With the determination of serum calcitonin, the diagnosis rate can be improved. Cool nodules are more common in undifferentiated thyroid cancer, medullary carcinoma, cystic thyroid gland, and acute stage of subacute thyroiditis.
