The fornix becomes flat
The zygomatic fornix turned flat as a sign of severe x-ray examination of obstructive emphysema. Obstructive emphysema refers to the expansion of the distal part of the terminal bronchioles (including respiratory bronchioles, alveolar ducts, alveolar sacs, and alveoli), with destruction of the air cavity wall.
