Intestinal roundworm infection
Prevention of intestinal roundworm infection is a fundamental measure to prevent biliary roundworm. Biliary ascariasis is the ascariasis retrogradely entering the biliary tract from the small intestine, causing bile duct and sphincter spasm. The main clinical feature is the sudden onset of upper abdominal pain in patients. After the roundworm enters the bile duct, most of them stay in the common bile duct. Because the angle between the bile duct and the common bile duct is large, the roundworm rarely enters the gallbladder, but can penetrate into the left and right hepatic bile ducts. More common among children and youth, no gender difference, more common in rural areas. Improper management can cause a variety of complications and great harm, and it is also one of the causes of primary bile duct stones.
