Poor development of collateral circulation
After the blood flow of the main blood vessels (arteries or veins) in a certain part of the body is blocked, the blood vessels of the original anastomotic branch expand, forming a bypass, allowing blood to bypass these bypasses to restore circulation. It is a "collateral cycle", also known as a "compensatory cycle." Inadequate collateral circulation development indicates that these bypasses are underdeveloped, or they affect circulation and cause various cardiovascular diseases.
