Simple goiter

Simple goiter, also known as non-toxic goiter, is caused by iodine deficiency, excessive iodine, goiter-causing substances, or congenital defects, and other factors. Compensatory thyroid enlargement, but not accompanied by abnormal thyroid function. Swollen thyroid tissue is followed by irregular proliferation and regeneration, and nodules are called nodular goiter. Divided into endemic and sporadic goiter.
