Lumbar Spondylolisthesis and Internal Fixation

With the development of spinal surgery and the creation and increase of new instruments and internal fixation varieties, the reduction of spondylolisthesis has become a reality. There have been reports of successful reduction of the spondylolisthesis using the harrington device, roy-camille steel plate, and steffee steel plate, but there are disadvantages such as insufficient internal fixation or insufficient reduction force. The author applied the perforated spondylolisthesis plate (schnollner 1973) and modified steel plate to treat l5 and l4 spondylolisthesis. At the same time, he performed posterior interbody fusion and achieved satisfactory results. The ideal reduction can also be achieved by carrying out anterior lysis of the vertebral body without a ventral approach to the posterior degree of spondylolisthesis. The main advantages of the zygomatic spondylolisthesis plate for the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis are: ① large reduction force and good effect, ② thorough decompression, ③ high bone graft healing rate, ④ no false joints can be achieved, and modern basic principles for the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis-reduction Pressure, reset, stability requirements. This article focuses on the surgery for reduction and internal fixation of the zygomatic spondylolisthesis plate.
