Hemolytic Japanese Encephalitis Complement Binding Test

Epidemic encephalitis (JE) is caused by the Japanese encephalitis virus, which produces hemagglutinin that can agglutinate red blood cells such as chicks, pigeons, geese and sheep. Mature JE virus has three structural proteins, V1, V2, and V3. Corresponding monoclonal antibodies prove that V3 has four immune-related antigenic points, one of which is the determinant of neutralizing antibodies, and the other two are group and Subgroup-specific epitopes, and one that has both hemagglutination and neutralization epitopes. In addition, JE virus has type-specific soluble complement-binding antigens. JE patients are stimulated by the above-mentioned viral antigens. Hemagglutination inhibitory antibodies, neutralizing antibodies and complement-binding antibodies can be produced in the blood after the disease. Based on this, the detection of the above three antibodies can be used as a serological diagnosis index for the disease. Detection or immunofluorescence detection of specific IgM antibodies has early diagnostic significance.
