The onset of tuberculous meningitis is generally slow. It is a chronic wasting disease. Patients often have symptoms such as low fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, and poor sleep. They often have neurological symptoms, including headache, vomiting, lethargy, and restlessness. Convulsions and coma may occur.
