Oropharyngeal adhesions
Oropharyngeal adhesions are caused by the adhesion of scar tissue between the soft palate, the pharyngeal arch, and the root of the tongue. The most common adhesion is the adhesion of the tongue base to the pharyngeal arch. The etiology is similar to that of nasopharyngeal adhesion. Often occurs after tonsil surgery.
