Maxillary sinus cancer

Oral and maxillofacial malignant tumors are the most common cancers, and squamous cell carcinoma is the most common among cancers. In China, oral and maxillofacial squamous cell carcinomas occur mostly between the ages of 40 and 60, with more men than women. Gingival, tongue, cheek, sacral, and maxillary sinus cancers are common. Oral cancer is north of the Yangtze River in China and accounts for 1.45-5.6% of systemic malignancies, and south of the Yangtze River is 1.75-5.18. In India, it accounts for more than 40% of systemic malignancies. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common type of maxillary sinus cancer. Because it is located in the maxillary sinus, it is asymptomatic at an early stage, and it is not easy to find. It is only noticed when the tumor develops to a certain degree with obvious symptoms. Because early diagnosis of maxillary sinus cancer is often the key to the success of the treatment, clinicians should be highly vigilant and should pay attention to distinguish them from periodontal disease, apical disease, chronic maxillary sinusitis, etc.
