Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase fluorescence spot test

The glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase fluorescence spot test is a fluorescence method to measure glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase. In the presence of glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase and N ADP +, glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase can make NA DP + Reduction to NA DPH, which emits fluorescence when exposed to UV light. The absorption peak of NA DPH is at a wavelength of 340 nm. The glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity can be measured by the amount of NADPH generated per unit time. It can be used as a screening method for grape 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6-PD) defects.
