General characteristics of duodenal drainage
Duodenal drainage is composed of pancreatic exudate, bile, duodenal secretion and gastric fluid. Drainage can be used to collect specimens, which are divided into D, A, B, and C tubes. D tube is duodenal fluid; A tube is common bile duct fluid; B tube is gallbladder fluid (bile); C tube is hepatobiliary fluid (bile). The examination can understand the bile secretion, bile duct status, and pancreatic function. It is very helpful for the diagnosis of hepatobiliary diseases (such as inflammation, stones, parasites, tumors) and bile duct obstruction, and it is also helpful for understanding pancreatic exocrine function.
