Increased saliva secretion
Saliva is a mixed fluid secreted by the salivary glands, the regulation of salivary secretion is completely neural reflex, including non-reflex and conditioned reflex. The efferent nerves that innervate the salivary glands are sympathetic and parasympathetic. When these two kinds of nerves are excited, they cause an increase in salivary secretion, but mainly the role of parasympathetic nerves. Generally speaking, infants under 1 year old will drool because of small oral cavity volume, large saliva secretion, and stimulation of gums by teething. Drooling in children is drooling, which refers to a condition in which saliva in the mouth unconsciously overflows from the mouth.
