Mediastinoscopy
Mediastinoscopy is used for staging lung cancer, especially for patients with enlarged lymph nodes found on chest X-rays or CT scans. Some doctors believe that all patients with lung cancer should undergo invasive staging, while others believe that it should only be used in patients with abnormal lymph nodes found on imaging.
