Hepatitis D antigen

Hepatitis D virus antigens are present in and around infected cells. In the early stage of acute infection with hepatitis D virus, hepatitis D virus antigen can be detected in the blood during the positive period of hepatitis B virus surface antigen for 1 to 2 weeks; it can be maintained at a low titer level during chronic infection.
