Cyclic guanosine phosphate
Cyclic guanosine is widely distributed in various tissues, and its content is about 1/10 to 1/100 of cAMP. It is generated by GTP catalyzed by guanylate cyclase and decomposed by phosphodiesterase. cGMP has the opposite effect to cAMP. cGMP has the effect of acetylcholine, inhibits myocardial contractility, reduces heart rate, increases neural excitability, stimulates the release of hydrolytic enzymes from lysosomes of leukocytes, stimulates the proliferation of lymphocytes, inhibits gluconeogenesis, and excites parasympathetic Features.
