Cardiac catheter

This is an examination procedure and not a therapeutic operation and needs to be performed in a “cardiac catheter X-ray room”. A narrow and soft plastic catheter is inserted into the artery or vein of the upper arm or thigh during the examination. The catheter enters the heart cavity or coronary artery through the blood vessel. At this time, the doctor injects some "contrast agent" (special X-ray liquid) through the catheter. Under X-rays, through a TV screen, doctors can observe the heart's lumen, valves or coronary arteries to diagnose heart disease.
