Serum C peptide

C peptide, also known as linker peptide, is a secreted product of islets & beta; cells, and it has a common precursor & mdash; & mdash; proinsulin. After one molecule of proinsulin is digested, it is cleaved into one molecule of insulin and one molecule of C peptide.
