Fibrin degradation products

Under the action of plasmin, fibrin (proto) can be degraded to produce fragments X, Y, D, E and other fragments of different molecular weights, collectively known as fibrin (proto) degradation products (FDP). The tests for determining the content of FDP in plasma (or urine) usually include immunoelectrophoresis, immunodiffusion, flocculent precipitation, latex agglutination (Fi) test, red blood cell agglutination inhibition test, staphylococcus aggregation test, reverse hemagglutination test, and ELISA and more.
