Serum EB virus antibody
Epstein-Barr virus is a new human virus discovered in 1964 and is the pathogen of infectious mononucleosis. Young children and adolescents are susceptible. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is closely related to nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common cancers in southern China. The detection of EBCCA-IgA in serum is of great value in the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma; the heterophilic antibody agglutination test of EB virus also has important auxiliary diagnostic significance for infectious mononucleosis.
