Serum gastrin

Gastrin (G) is an important gastrointestinal hormone, which is mainly secreted by G cells. G cells are mainly distributed in the antrum of the stomach. The metabolic site is in the kidney. Serum gastrin is increased during renal insufficiency. Gastrin secretion is mainly caused by food expansion of the gastric antrum. The excitatory reflex of the vagus nerve promotes its secretion or chemical stimulation of food and its decomposition of food increases the release of gastrin. Increased gastric acid and sympathetic nerve excitement all inhibit gastrin secretion.
