Retrocranial fossa meningioma in children

Ependymoma occurs in the ventricular cells of the ventricle, and accounts for 5% to 10% of primary tumors of the central nervous system in children. Occurs in the posterior cranial fossa, about 60%. More common in children under 5 years. Tumors are mostly located in the ventricle, and a few are in the tissues next to the ventricle, showing a slow, invasive growth. Tumor cells can also shed in the subarachnoid space to produce disseminated implants.
