Latent syphilis
Syphilis is a chronic systemic sexually transmitted disease caused by Treponema pallidum infection. It is transmitted mainly through sexual intercourse. The manifestations of this disease are extremely complex and can almost invade various organs throughout the body, causing damage to multiple organs. For example, ulcers or hard chancrees in the site of primary syphilis infection; skin and mucous membrane damage and lymphadenopathy of secondary syphilis; heart, nerve, stomach, eye, ear involvement of tertiary syphilis, and gum swollen lesions. The next generation causes neonatal congenital syphilis, which is extremely harmful. Because syphilis seriously harms human health, it is one of eight key prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases prescribed by the Ministry of Health of China.
