Tropical pulmonary eosinophil infiltration

In 1943, Weingarten et al. First discovered tropical pulmonary eosinophilia or tropical eosinophilia, also known as Weingarten syndrome, in India and Sri Lanka. It was later found in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and southern China. The disease is mainly related to filariasis infection, more men than women, more common in young adults.
