Aluminum bone disease

Chronic renal failure can cause renal osteodystrophy. One type is fiste osteitis (osteitis fibrosa) due to secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). This is a type of high-turn-over bone disease. The other is low-turn-over bone disease, which manifests itself as osteomalacia. Most of it is caused by the deposition of aluminum in the bone, which is called aluminum-related bone disease. ). There is another type of osteodystrophy that has both of these changes and is called mixed osteodystropthy.
