Pediatric pseudomeningitis
Pseudomembranous enteritis (PME) is an acute intestinal inflammation. It is named because it is covered with a layer of false membrane on the surface of the necrotic mucosa of the small intestine or colon. It usually occurs in the small intestine and colon alone, or both. . The disease is prone to occur after major surgery and the application of broad-spectrum antibiotics, so it is also called postoperative enteritis and antibiotic enteritis. The essence of pseudomembranous enteritis is the imbalance of the ecological balance of the intestinal flora, so it can also be found in shock, heart failure, uremia, colonic obstruction, diabetes, leukemia, aplastic anemia, chronic heart disease, etc.
