Pediatric mediastinal cysts and tumors

Mediastinum is also the most common site for pediatric intrathoracic tumors. The mediastinum extends from the first rib to the diaphragm, with the sternum in the front and the vertebra in the back, surrounded by the mediastinal pleura. Its content can be divided into two groups: ① the heart, large blood vessels, esophagus, trachea and their main branches; ② mainly thymus and mediastinal lymphoid tissue.
