Tracheal closed injury
Closed injury of trachea is rare, because the mandible and sternum are in front of the trachea and the spine is behind. The upper end of the trachea of the neck is superficial, and the lower end is located deep in the notch on the sternum. The surface is also covered with skin and neck muscles. Because of the mobility of the trachea itself, the elasticity of the cartilage ring and the cavity support structure of the cartilage make it less vulnerable to trauma. However, if the trachea is contused, it will be life-threatening or narrow the trachea and affect respiratory function.
