Mixed chronic high altitude disease

At present, the definition of mixed chronic high altitude disease is basically consistent in China. It is a manifestation of both hypoxic red blood cell hyperplasia and high altitude heart disease caused by pulmonary hypertension. Mixed chronic plateau disease mostly occurs in the plain settlers and a small number of inhabitants of the Kuju Plateau. The incidence rate is generally higher in men than in women, and rare in children. According to reports, the prevalence of inhabitants of the Andean Plateau in South America is significantly higher than that in the Himalayas, which may be related to the fact that humans have lived longer in the Himalayas than the Andes.
