Yersinia pestis pneumonia
Yersinia, commonly known as Yersinia pestis, is the pathogen of plague. Plague is a severe epidemic of zoonotic origin. Humans become ill through contact with infected animals or contaminated food. At present, the genus Yersinia is divided into Yersinia pestis, Y. pseudotuberculosis, Y. enterocolitica, and Y. intermediate .intermedia), the first three are highly pathogenic to humans. Alexandre Yersin of France first discovered Yersinia pestis. To commemorate the achievements of Yersin, the medical community called this pathogen Yersinia pestis.
