Functional dyspepsia
Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a group of patients with persistent or recurrent symptoms of epigastric pain or maldigestive indigestion, and clinical symptoms of organic diseases have been ruled out. According to clinical manifestations, FD can be further divided into different subtypes of post-prandial discomfort syndrome PDS (early satiety or post-prandial fullness) and epigastric pain syndrome EPS (pain or upper abdominal burning sensation). FD and belching (including swallowing and nonspecific belching), functional nausea and vomiting (including chronic idiopathic nausea, functional vomiting and periodic vomiting), and ruminant syndrome are all functional gastroduodenal diseases . Epidemiological investigations show that patients who have indigestion symptoms account for about 30% of the total number of outpatient medical departments and 70% of the total outpatients of gastroenterology. Among them, functional dyspepsia accounts for 30% to 40% of the total outpatients of gastroenterology.
