An examination of cerebrospinal fluid. β2-microglobulin is produced in lymphocytes. Cerebrospinal fluid β2 microglobulin (β2-MG) is an examination method of cerebrospinal fluid, which is helpful for the diagnosis of some diseases. Increases are seen in proximal tubule damage, autoimmune diseases, malignancies, liver disease, rejection after organ transplantation, and AIDS. Increased urinary β2 microglobulin is seen in acute or chronic glomerulonephritis, uremia, diabetic nephropathy, systemic lupus erythematosus involving nephropathy, pyelonephritis, congenital Fanconi syndrome, Wilson disease, cadmium metal poisoning, and ingestion of Kanda Drugs such as mycin, nifedipine (pain), tobramycin. The reduction is seen in acute or chronic glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome.
