Prion disease

Prion diseases are a group of neurological degenerative diseases that can be transmitted by mutant prion proteins. Also known as prion disease or protein particle disease. Human prions include Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), Gerstmann-Straussler disease (GSS), kuru disease and fatal familial insomnia (FFI).
