Pediatric hemangioma thrombocytopenia syndrome
Hemangiooma thrombocytopenia syndrome (hemangioma-thrombocytopeniasyndrome) is a congenital disease, a benign tumor composed of new blood vessels. Patients have huge cavernous hemangiomas, thrombocytopenia, and purpura. They are more common in the neonatal period and can cause significant disfigurement or dysfunction. Also known as capillary angioma-thrombocytopenia syndrome with thrombocytopenic purpura, giant hemangioma disease, Kasabach-Merritt syndrome.
