Hyperlipoproteinemia type III

Hyperlipoproteinemia type Ⅲ (hyperlipoproteinemia type Ⅲ), also known as wide beta; disease, beta;-lipoprotein dyslipemia. It is an independent disease with VLDLS catabolism disorders, leading to the accumulation of LDL precursors and intermediates. Electrophoresis of lipoproteins indicates LDL mobility, while ultracentrifugation indicates VLDLS. Electrophoretic analysis showed a wide beta; -lipoprotein band. There is considerable fluctuation in serum cholesterol (up to 1000 mg / ml) and triglycerides (up to 2000 mg / ml). Patients with type III hyperlipoproteinemia by isoelectric focusing electrophoresis showed apo-E2 / E2 protein phenotype. Apo-E2 homozygotes are specific symptoms of hyperlipoproteinemia.
