Adrenal medulla hyperfunction
Adrenal medulla tumors-pheochromocytoma is the main cause of hypermedulla. It has been clinically confirmed that there is a case of hypermedulla caused by medulla hyperplasia. Cases of pheochromocytoma have been reported as early as the 1st century, but successful surgical removal of the tumor has not been reported since 1927. In 1949 Holton and 1950 Goldenberg and others discovered that pheochromocytoma secretes adrenaline and norepinephrine, and only then did we understand the clinical pathogenesis of pheochromocytoma. Pheochromocytoma was thought to be a rare disease. In recent years, due to the continuous improvement of diagnostic methods, the number of cases found has increased. According to statistics, the incidence rate is 0.4 to 2.0% of all hypertension cases.
