Renal fusion
Some form of renal fusion occurs in about one in every 1,000 individuals, the most common being horseshoe kidney. Fusion kidney blocks almost always contain two excretory systems and two ureters. Kidney tissue can be evenly divided between the flank or completely on one side. Even in the latter case, the double ureteral orifice opens into the inherent position of the bladder.
