Persistent coma

Persistent coma means that the patient is in a coma for a long time after the injury (for more than 3 months) and loses the normal response to the outside world. It can be manifested as decortical syndrome, inactive mutism or plant survival. Because this is a very special state of coma, it is more commonly called ldquo; syndrome in search of a name.
