Elderly fatty liver
Due to diseases or drugs and other factors, lipid accumulation in liver cells exceeds 5% of liver wet weight is called fatty liver. The lipid content of the normal human liver accounts for 2% to 4% of the wet weight of the liver, of which 2/3 are phospholipids. In addition, there are cholesterol and neutral fats, which are mainly the membranes that make up cell membranes and other organelles. Most fatty livers are abnormally high in triacylglycerol content. According to the fat content, fatty livers can be classified as light (5% to 10% fat), medium (10% to 25% fat), and heavy (25% fat ~ 50% or 30%) three types. Fatty liver is a common clinical phenomenon, not an independent disease. Fatty liver is a reversible disease. Early diagnosis and timely treatment often return to normal.
