Nieman-Pick's disease
Niemaoh-Pick disease (NPD), also known as sphingomyelin lipidosis, is a rare congenital disorder of lipid metabolism. It is characterized by full monocytes and the nervous system with a large number of foam cells containing sphingomyelin. It is an autosomal recessive inheritance, which is more common in Jews, and its incidence is as high as 1/25 million. There are currently at least five types.
