Carotid body tumor resection
Carotid body tumors are a relatively rare type of chemoreceptor tumor. The normal carotid body is a small oval or irregular pink tissue with an average volume of about 6 × 4 × 2mm, which is located in the outer sheath at the branch of the common carotid artery. Generally, surgical resection is required, and carotid body tumor resection is feasible.
