Iliac vasculature syndrome
Popliteal vessels entrapment syndrome (PVES) is the abnormal pathological changes and clinical manifestations caused by the compression of the iliac artery or iliac vein by abnormal muscles and fibrous cords in the iliac fossa. Sometimes it can also involve nerves. Iliac artery involvement is most common. The characteristics are that the patients are mostly young, develop symptoms after running or strenuous exercise, and have intermittent claudication that progresses progressively.
