Mediastinal hernia

Mediastinal hernia (hernia of mediastinum) refers to the part of the lungs that protrude through the mediastinum into the other chest. It is difficult to identify clinically, and often coexist. Mediastinal hernias often occur in weak areas of the anterior superior mediastinal structure, that is, at the level of the first to fourth costal cartilage, with the sternum in the front, large blood vessels in the rear, and the heart as the lower boundary.
