Amoebic dysentery
Amebic dysentery is a disease caused by entamoeba histolytica parasitizing in the colon. It is often called intestinal amebic disease or amebic colitis. It can also spread from the intestine to other organs or directly to adjacent tissues, especially the liver, and become an abscess. The incubation period is generally 1 to 2 weeks, which can be as short as 4 days and as long as more than 1 year.
