Small cell carcinoma of thymus
Small thymic cell carcinoma (thymic oat cell carcinoma) occurs less frequently. Small cell carcinoma of the thymus is invasive and prone to distant metastasis. Small cell carcinoma of the thymus often occurs simultaneously with endocrine tumors of other organs in the body, namely multiple neuroendocrine tumor (MEN) type I syndrome.
