Myelodysplastic syndrome in the elderly

Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a group of malignant clonal diseases that originate from pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells. The main features are: ① abnormal development of blood cells, manifested as ineffective bone marrow and morbid hematopoietic; ② malignant clones retain a certain degree of differentiation potential, and the proliferation is relatively slow; ③ some eventually turned into acute leukemia, mainly acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
