Non-lactating areola fistula

A non-lactating areola out of lactation is a local infectious lesion of a large duct in the breast that occurs in the areola. Both men and women can develop the disease. Clinically, the features of recurrent fistula in the areola area are also known as non-lactating breast abscesses, non-lactating areola abscesses, chronic sub-areola abscesses, breast fistulas, and large ductal granuloma of the breast. Zusks et al. Named the breast duct fistula based on histological changes of the disease. Due to the recurrence of the disease, the course of the disease is prolonged. It has been reported for 0.5 to 102 months, the longest is 20 years, and most of the disease is 1 to 3 years. Antibiotic therapy alone is ineffective and must be treated surgically.
