Mucopolysaccharidosis type Ⅴ

This type, also known as Scheie's syndrome, is now classified as a subtype of mucopolysaccharidosis type Ⅰ. This is because patients with this disease have the same enzyme deficiency as type Ⅰ, and the genes and inheritance of the two are also the same. The syndrome is characterized by normal intelligence, with moderate bone changes, aortic valve disease, and nerve compression symptoms.
