Endemic typhus
Endemic typhus, also known as flea-borne or mouse-type typhus, is an acute infectious disease that is caused by Rickettsia mosquitoes and transmitted through rat fleas. The patient is the only source of infection. The clinical manifestations are similar to epidemic typhus, but with mild symptoms, short duration, good prognosis, and low mortality. The course of disease is 2-3 weeks.
